GAL TALK

Gal Talk 2019

The special Guest Lecture series, organized by the UGS, have been named as Gal Talks. Annually, the geological Society organizes about four or five gal talks. These lectures are organized to improve the knowledge of students about the different geological aspects.

A special lecture on Geochronology was conducted by Prof .L. R. K. Perera on 9th April 2019 at the main auditorium of PGIS with the participation of students of the Department of Geology.

The second ‘Gal Talk’, a special lecture on ‘Investigation of water flow paths and water fluxes based on stable water isotopes in rice based cropping systems’ and also a guidance lecture for higher studies in Germany was done by Dr. Amani Mahindawansha on 5th September 2019 at the main auditorium of PGIS with the participation of students of Department of Geology.

The final ‘Gal Talk’ for the year 2019 was held by Mr. Maleen Kidiwela on ‘Marine Geology and Geophysics: An overview of Earth processes beyond human vision’ on 23rd December 2019 at the main auditorium of PGIS with the participation of students of the Department of Geology .
